The first edition of Global Scientific Martial Arts and Cultural Congress (GSMACC) was held in Sandakan, Sabah from 17 – 19 August 2018. Formerly known as International Seni Gayung Fatani Congress and Silat Melayu Symposium, the program attracted participants from all around Malaysia.

A total of 50 participants participated in the congress and symposium. This includes delegates from Peninsular Malaysia that actively involved in martial arts clubs in Selangor, Perak, Kedah, Negeri Sembilan, Terengganu, Putrajaya, and Melaka.

PSGFM’s efforts have received the recognition of Yang Berhormat Datuk Liew Vui Keong (VK Liew), Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department for Legal Affairs. Through his representative Mr Adin Ismail, VK Liew express his strong support to the efforts made by PSGFM to establish (silat) the culture of the nation.

This is the first step done by PSGFM towards organising a world stage conference in 2020. The association organised many activities and programs that contributes to the advancement of Malay Silat in Malaysia.

On October 17, 2018, in Rzeszow, Poland, nine Malaysian delegations led by Grandmaster Dr. Mohamad Nizam Mohamed Shapie successfully presented and received full support from the members of the International Martial Arts and Combat Sports Scientific Society (IMACSSS) committee to host the 9th edition of the IMACSSS Conference in Malaysia. The conference was organized in hybrid mode in 2020 due to the global pandemic issues.

After the COVID-19 pandemic, on October 13, 2022, in Rzeszow, Poland, ten Malaysian delegates, led by Grandmaster Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mohamad Nizam Mohamed Shapie, once again successfully presented and received full support from the members of the IMACSSS committee to host the 13th edition of the IMACSSS Conference in Putrajaya. It is now officially known as IMACSSS2024.
